    MARC WEIGUM weigum

    MSRE CANDIDATE 2011
    MBA 2010

Marc Weigum is a second year graduate student in the Master of Science in Real Estate program.  In conjunction with real estate studies, Marc also acquired in 2010 a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Entrepreneurship at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.  Prior to beginning graduate school, Marc worked as programmer / project manager for a large computer hardware company and created a real estate development company, Weigum Properties.  In 2007, the company successfully finished a 25,000 sq. ft. mixed-use project in Birch Bay, WA.  During his time at the University of Washington, he has sought out opportunities to broaden his real estate skills in order to apply them to a number of different projects and strategies.

His main interests lie in helping others make effective real estate decisions that tie back to economic and environmental sustainability.  He has worked extensively with Dr. Jim DeLisle as an assistant both in the classroom and on research.  Currently, he is assisting in research that includes empirical analysis of some 200 mixed-use projects between 2002 and 2008 in an effort to determine what is the most effective both from a tenant, asset mix and locational perspective.  His diverse background allows him to provide creative and unique solutions to issues affecting the real estate market.  He is a member of the UW Real Estate Club, ULI, NAIOP, CoreNet, and ICSC.
