Stuart Gordon Before entering the MSRE program at the University of Washington, I spent 4 years originating commercial mortgages. At Washington Mutual, Countrywide Commercial, and most recently O’Kane Capital, I financed commercial real estate with multifamily properties consisting of the majority of my originations. I was instrumental in opening new markets in Champaign, IL with Washington Mutual and Portland, OR for Countrywide Commercial. I conducted all due diligence on each new loan origination including cash flow analysis, property information and property inspection. In the fall of 2008 my manager at Washington Mutual and Countrywide Commercial, Peter O’Kane, and I started a commercial mortgage company, O’Kane Commercial Capital. Unfortunately, the commercial financing markets continued to be frozen so we unwound the firm in January of 2010 as we pursued other opportunities. Over the last two years I have made strong networks within the Seattle real estate community. I am currently on the membership committee of the Washington State Chapter of NAIOP, Co-President of the 42 member UW real estate club, and an active member in the Seattle Chapter of ULI. When I graduate from the MSRE program, I plan to work in real estate investment management. |
