    Prospective Students

    admissions

The deadline for the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) Program is February 1st.

International applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all application materials, by November 1st to allow sufficient time for review.
International transcripts must be received and evaluated by the Graduate School in order to be considered for admission.

Required Application Materials for International Applicants

    ____________________________________________________________________________

Approximately 30 full-time graduate students are enrolled in real estate programs each
Autumn Quarter.  The MSRE is offered directly by the Runstad Center to a class of 20 of the best and brightest students drawn annually from an international pool of applicants.  The Real Estate Specialization is offered to 10 students drawn from applicants to the Department of Urban Design and Planning.  Other students interested in pursuing the Real Estate Specialization make application to the Runstad Center after being accepted in another Master’s degree program within the University of Washington.

Competitive candidates for both programs possess undergraduate or previous graduate degrees in a range of appropriate disciplines.  These typically include degrees in architecture, business, construction, engineering, geography, public policy, law, or urban planning.  Experience working directly in real estate or some closely related field is highly valued.  The Runstad Center seeks to admit students whose objectives align with those of the two academic programs which are to:

Apply broad business leadership skills to solve real world problems

Understand how spatial and capital markets affect creation of value.

Examine the effects of place-bound, three dimensional built forms on cities

Explore how behavior of decision makers impacts sustainable real estate.

In addition to applications to the MSRE through the Runstad Center or through appropriate Departments for other Master’s degrees, all prospective students must submit their applications on line through the University of Washington Graduate School.  Additional academic program information may be obtained by emailing Melissa Best, Center Program Manager at msre@u.washington.edu.
